On November 26, 1930, Govind Raghunath Dabholkar alias Hemadpant published the first version of the Sai Satcharitra in Marathi. A following English edition, translated from the original Marathi composition, was published in 1944 by Shri. Nagash Devastate (N.V.) Gunaji. When Hemadpant (also known as Late. Govindrao (Annasaheb) Raghunath Dabholkar) visited Shirdi in 1910, he witnessed a miracle performed by Sai Baba in which baba prevented a raging cholera epidemic from entering Shirdi by grinding wheat on a grindstone and dispersing it around the village’s borders.
